Whilst many companies in the retail sector will state that they are either agile or moving towards an agile process, the reality is that achieving agility requires more than a scrum team and product owner. It requires new thinking about how technology is used, flexible architecture and infrastructure, the use of new methods for capturing requirements, and driving these through delivery. All of this needs clear stakeholder vision and confidence in embracing change.

The OLR commerce team have been working successfully as a delivery partner at Britain’s best loved department store, for a number of years. Enlisted to help drive a raft of changes across their site, we moved Laura Ashley to a completely new front-end platform. In order to achieve success, OLR sourced the very best talent, engaged with in-house teams to create a reusable atomic component library, worked with the in-house design authority to architect a new “best of breed” front-end application, and facilitated constant feedback loops to ensure continuous improvement.This was a true agile project of the highest calibre.
